By baanlude at 13 Feb 2010 - 22:53

Ometa has build a Solution that turns every BaaN query and Baan session without coding into a Webservice. It has also an own .NET SDK for programmers to communicate directly with BAAN-sessions and queries. Ometa has also built a solution that makes EVERY BaaN application available in SharePoint. You can read/Write/update/delete to every Baan application directly from Microsoft SharePoint. Baan queries can be mapped to SharePoint lists to share information within your organization.

Customer Case Ovet

Ovet chooses the Ometa Integrator solution to build Portals in SharePoint integrated with the ERP system.

OVET chooses the Ometa Integrator solution to build Portals in SharePoint integrated with the ERP system (Infor BaaN)
By baanlude at 13 Aug 2009 - 15:46

Ometa logoOVET is a company in the south of the Netherlands specialized in the transshipment, storage and processing of bulk products, particularly in the field of solid fuels and ores. Its main clients are steel companies, power stations and traders. OVET one most important of the stevedores of solid fuels for the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.

OVET manages their orders, service operations, time registration, logistics, financial transaction,.. using an ERP system (BaaN).  Disclosing this information to the field operators was done via downloads to MS Excel and paper printing.

Here the problem of disconnectivity between the field operators and the back office system became visible. Order status, time registration,… need to be filled in on paper or MS Excel and are to be sent to the administration office.  This leads to administrative overhead, communication overhead and data entry mistakes.

Ometa’s Integrator Solution enables Heijmans to do time registration in BaaN IV via a MS SharePoint Portal.

For Heijmans Infrastructure, a division of the Heijmans Group (largest construction company of The Netherlands -11600 employees), time registration is crucial. It is one of the most important elements to measure project progress and costs.

Until recent project managers filled out time sheets in MS Excel and a central admin unit entered the data in their Baan application. Now Ometa has developed a Time Registration Portal on top of their Baan application. The MS Excel timesheet is omitted as the project managers directly use the portal to make the time entries. It results in higher efficiency and data quality.
