How do I submit a forum search through an URL?
By patvdv at 6 Apr 2008 - 15:26

You can submit a search to vBulletin with a URL, just like you can with the search form. The basic URL is:

Where searchword is the word for which you are searching.

Here is a list of the extra search parameters you can add to the URL. When you add a search parameter to the URL you need to add this to the end of the URL:

Search field: Search by Key Word

  • Variable name: titleonly
  • Values:
    • 0 = Search Entire Posts
    • 1 = Search Titles Only

Search field: Search by User Name

  • Variable name: searchuser
  • Values: Enter a username

  • Variable name: starteronly
  • Values:
    • 0 = Find Posts by User
    • 1 = Find Threads Started by User

  • Variable name: exactname
  • Values:
    • 0 = Partial name
    • 1 = Exact name

Search field: Find Threads with

  • Variable name: replyless
  • Values:
    • 0 = At Least
    • 1 = At Most

  • Variable name: replylimit
  • Values: Any integer values

How does the forum reputation system work?
By patvdv at 6 Apr 2008 - 14:46

The user reputation/rating system allows the board members to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'.

Members can gain and/or lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. Members with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content. This can be achieved by clicking on the reputation icon [Reputation icon]

The ability to add/remove from another member's reputation is based on a set of controls which includes seniority, post count, own reputation level etc. This is expressed as reputation-altering power and will typically increase over time and by contributing more to the board. The higher your reputation-altering power is, the more impact a comment on another member's post will have.

A member's reputation/rating is depicted by a single icon with varying colours. The darker the colour the more neutral a reputation/rating is, the brighter the colour the more positive/negative a reputation/rating score is.

Baanboard Sponsoring
By patvdv at 4 Apr 2008 - 20:45

This document is targeted at profit and non-profit organizations that wish to sponsor the most successful Baan-related website: In return for their sponsorship the participating organization will receive benefits in terms of on-site advertising.

Why consider sponsoring

  • First of all, we bear the service charges that are involved with ourselves. As the website continues to grow under its mounting success some of these service charges are becoming (too) big.
  • Secondly, sponsoring will help to keep free of obtrusive banners and membership fees. The sponsoring schemes is offering are a discrete, low-cost yet effective way for an organization to profile itself on the website.
  • Thirdly, sponsoring will enable us to build on future projects with and will enable us to look for paid expertise. All of these will be aimed at providing more and better services for each user.

Sponsoring can have profitable results for your business! Read the testimonial of Bader Mansour, CEO of Nazareth Data Quest Ltd (Nazdaq):

Site Hits & Visits

No data is available for the period Feb-Aug 2004 and for the month of July 2005. (Undesirable) spiders are being blocked as of March 2004 (causing too much unwanted traffic)
