Emerging concurrence on BI
By Hitesh Shah at 23 Jun 2010 - 18:23

There appears to be some concurrence emerging on BI front in the BI community. Such concurrence can be like

1. MS office (and MS excel in particular) integration with application is identified as important first & foremost component of BI for large and small enterprise equally.

2. As the company BI requirements grow, people can explore and deep dive into collaborative software Sharepoint , data warehouses , reporting tools and services etc .

Here are the links from where above conclusions seems to be emerging.

Office 2010 heeds BI propagation

Don’t dismiss Excel in your BI strategy

Microsoft Promises BI For The Masses With PowerPivot For Excel

Even Infor is buddying up with MS . So users may not have to worry for office integration at all and depend on any 3rd party products !!

Archiving in ERP LN FP2 (India Localisation)
By sharry66 at 26 Mar 2010 - 08:31

Whether it is feasible to do archiving in ERP LN FP2 (India Localisation).

When We talk about the User guide it clearly says " the process is for Standarad, Non Localised, Non Customised Environment"

Thus when we try to do the archiving in the localised environment, the system does not archive the localisation tables.

Then how we go about archiving for the localised environment? should we share the localisation parameters, Item localisation data and other general data tables relating to localisation or should we take the dump of these tables and load in archive company?

Cancellation of a Production order(fully not delivered)
By Ramaswamy at 7 Feb 2010 - 09:44

We have migrated from BaaN IVc to LN recently.

We are not able to Cancel any Production orders where full quantity of that Itm code is not delivered. But the Inventory as per estimated materials were released either fully or partially. We  reversed the issued materials by negative entry and thus ensured that all estimated materials to be reelased.

In BaaN we were able to cancel the Production orders but in LN even after reversing the material issues,we are not able to cancel the Production orders.

Request solution from Experts how to proceed in Cancellation.

Estimated materials - Shop floor control
By Ramaswamy at 18 Jan 2010 - 10:38

In LN ''The estimated materials" is frozen when the Production orders becomes 'Active' status and does not allow any items to add or delete in this status.

Our requirement is we should be able to add or delete some items in Estimated materials of any Production orders in 'Active' status also.Where we have to set the Parameters to enable this option.

Request the manufacturing consultants to give the solution for this.
