SUMMARY

The Business Analyst works closely with users and managers to gather system requirements, document system specifications and communicate requirements to business teams, management and vendors. The Business Analyst is also responsible for systems and functional process documentation, application QA testing, training, and supporting the ERP suite of applications. The main focus of the role is to consult, analyze, and help develop the Infor ERP LN, PLM and related applications and reporting solutions used. In addition, this position mentors and coaches the user community in best practices and the use of technology. Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology.

DUTIES :

  • Primary point of contact for ERP applications functional use and support requests.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions and training documentation for business processes and end user application documentation using Microsoft Office and Infor Enhanced Performance & Accelerator Kit (EPAK) WEB based documentation and training environment.
  • Work with the business stakeholders to produce comprehensive requirements and detailed specifications for improvements to existing systems and the creation of new solutions, interfaces, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of business rules and documentation of business processes as they pertain to the business applications to ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity.
  • Document outstanding issues into summary format for periodic communication to the user group for prioritization and subsequently to management and project sponsors for approval of priorities.
  • Maintain the Change Management database; enhancement requests, issues and bugs, recording status, monitoring progress and acquiring user specifications.
  • Create and maintain SQL; queries, scripts, views and BI tools.
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • The position may require working shifts and overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Minimum of a 3 year diploma/bachelor’s degree in an information technology, computer science, engineering business administration discipline, from an accredited college/university.
  • Business Analysis, project management certification and related training will be considered an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst within a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP Implementation experience considered a strong asset.
  • Support and implementation experience using the following products:
  • ERP: Infor ERP LN, PLM, EPAK
  • Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, FileMaker
  • Applications: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SQL Reporting tools
  • Demonstrated ability leading groups and completing projects on time within budget.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Business process reengineering, workflow, work instruction and training documentation.
  • Business acumen: supply chain, operations management, product life cycle management and financial applications.
  • Data analysis, process mapping and gap analysis.
  • Relational database skills; design, sorted procedures, triggers and SQL report writing.
  • Formal system quality assurance testing and user acceptance.
  • Applied PLM skills; Product Data Management, Engineering Change Management, Project Management, Product Cost Management.
  • Advanced planning and scheduling; constraint management, heuristic or optimization approaches and demand management.
  • Understands business silos (Customers, Suppliers, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production) and how these relate to one another.
  • Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
  • Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills.
