The user reputation/rating system allows the board members to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'.
Members can gain and/or lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. Members with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content. This can be achieved by clicking on the reputation icon ![[Reputation icon] [Reputation icon]](/baanboard/images/buttons/reputation.gif)
The ability to add/remove from another member's reputation is based on a set of controls which includes seniority, post count, own reputation level etc. This is expressed as reputation-altering power and will typically increase over time and by contributing more to the board. The higher your reputation-altering power is, the more impact a comment on another member's post will have.
A member's reputation/rating is depicted by a single icon with varying colours. The darker the colour the more neutral a reputation/rating is, the brighter the colour the more positive/negative a reputation/rating score is.

Members have the possibility to disable the display of their reputation/rating through the User Control panel. In that case a will be displayed.
